Who We Are

B2E CoLAB – The Collaborative Laboratory for the Blue BioEconomy – is a private non-profit association that gathers Universities, Research Centers and private companies in an unique innovation ecosystem. One of B2E’s main goals is to support the Blue Bioeconomy growth sectors through the training of highly qualified human resources and lead to the creation of highly qualified jobs, therefore contributing to improved societal value. This is accomplished by establishing, reinforcing, and promoting synergies between companies and higher education institutions.

 

Our strategic lines of action are focused on (among others): sustainable use of marine bioresources through solving complex, large scale problems of international relevance in the Blue Bioecomy sector, promoting the technological development of sustainable marine aquaculture and biotechnology sectors, enhancing the implementation of effective added-value marine bioresources knowledge-based solutions. Our ultimate goal is to promote and support knowledge transfer of relevant solutions for sustainable marine aquaculture and biotechnology and. To pursue its goals, B2E is equipped with a multidisciplinary team with competences in science, communication and social media, and economics, translating into a dynamic approach to implementation of the planned activities.

What We Do

In the INNOECOFOOD project, B2E CoLAB is involved as a Partner in WP 8 activities of Communication, Dissemination of knowledge outputs. The work to be developed by B2E CoLAB, together with other consortium partners, involves producing and compiling into a manual educational content shared by project partners who are experts in fish, spirulina and insect production, making knowledge accessible and stimulating for those who will work in the Ecohubs, so that knowledge, methodologies and good practices can then be replicated by five thousand local workers. B2E CoLAB is also going to develop educational videos and is also involved in the Communication Committee, which aims for efficient dissemination and close collaboration with key stakeholders in the project.
