INNOECOFOOD will participating at the National Aquaculture Meeting (ENAQUA25), on 27–28 November 2025 at the University of Algarve in Faro, Portugal.
Our partner CIIMAR – Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research present a poster titled “Effects of spirulina and black soldier fly meal on Nile tilapia under acute thermal stress”, showcasing groundbreaking work from Work Package 3 (WP3). The study highlights the potential of insect meal and spirulina as innovative and sustainable feed ingredients, exploring their role in enhancing the resilience of Nile tilapia juveniles under thermal stress—a critical challenge in aquaculture.
This research aligns with INNOECOFOOD’s mission to promote sustainable, resilient, and self-sufficient aquaculture systems, particularly in vulnerable regions. The presentation is open to a diverse audience, including:
- Researchers and scientists from national institutions
- PhD and Master’s students
- Representatives from private aquaculture and feed companies
- Innovation ecosystem stakeholders, including SMEs
Looking forward to engaging exchanging insights and discussions on the practical applications of these novel feeds, their potential to support aquaculture in African communities, and their contribution to feed self-sufficiency and climate resilience.
See you then!
