INNOECOFOOD Project Innovative Baked Product Featured at 2025 Jinja Annual Fish Festival
In this year’s Jinja Annual Fish Festival on 6th and 7th December 2025 that happened at Across the Nile Resort, along the banks of the River Nile in Njeru Municipality, INNOECOFOOD Project was featured, represented our partners at Makerere University to disseminate project’s innovations and outcomes.
The festival is eminent for providing avenue for exhibiting diverse and innovative fish cuisines. This year’s festival aimed to promote knowledge exchange, raise awareness, and highlight recent developments around Lake Victoria.
Team from Makerere University was exhibiting baked products: Fish Baghia and The Fish Bar innovations for the dried fish, Spirulina and insect powders.
This was aimed at promoting consumption of healthy snacks that rich in protein from the insects and sensitize the researchers, farmers, business communities, private sector and attendees from the government on the economic gains from engaging in fish, spirulina and insect farming and value addition.
